Support plans to maintain and improve process control systems. Schedule and execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules. Operate as automation resource on projects that involve process control systems. Own self-development and initiative to understand the site process control systems. Adhere to automation standards and implement changes to automation-related specifications and maintenance plans. Support audits and inspections for process control systems. Utilize tools in systematic problem solving, process improvement, and project management. Operate within a Quality Mindset with risk management and mitigation. Implement effective change management. Support Corporate, PS, local IT, and local stakeholder initiatives and projects. Participate in developing new SOPs, best practices, and maintenance procedures. Follow all safety and environmental requirements in performance of duties. Other accountabilities, as assigned. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university (required). For Logistics roles: Warehouse automation equipment a plus (AS/RS, AGVs, AMRs, conveyors). Knowledgeable in SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL, Historian; SAP EWM a plus. Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems. Ability to translate high-level direction into actionable tasks using Six Sigma methodologies (plus). Ability to follow up on results and revise work plans for moderately complex problems via cross-functional teams (plus). Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with potential distractions. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Experience/Technical Areas
PLC Programming: Expertise in programming and debugging PLCs (Siemens S7-1500 preferred) used in warehouse automation systems; troubleshooting, reading, and understanding codes. WCS: Knowledge of commercial or custom WCS platforms (e.g., Dematic iQ, Honeywell Intelligrated Momentum, Swisslog SynQ) and how WCS bridges WMS with automation. EWM: End-to-end testing and commissioning Siemens PLC automation projects integrated with SAP EWM or other WMS; experience translating WMS/EWM tasks into real-time equipment commands; integrating SAP EWM with automated warehouse technologies. IT Skills: Experience integrating automation systems with IT infrastructure, including Active Directory and cybersecurity best practices. AMR: Integrating AMRs into warehouse automation systems with real-time communication to WMS/WCS. Pharma: Familiarity with regulated environments and GxP, especially GAMP. Seniority level
