Geotechnical Engineer – Task Lead

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer Task Lead to serve as a technical leader on transportation projects with a focus on design to work on our New York based transportation clients. Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Oversee geotechnical engineering investigations, ensuring all work aligns with project budgets and schedules with minimal supervision. Lead the preparation of geotechnical reports and construction documents, including subsurface exploration programs and laboratory testing assignments. Act as a senior technical resource, providing specialized input and serving as a technical advisor for teams as needed. Coordinate project deliverables with interdisciplinary teams and participate in quality control reviews of design calculations, drawings, and documentation. Technical Analysis & Design: Perform detailed evaluations of ground conditions to assess impacts on design and construction. Conduct pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvement, and seepage analysis. Utilize geotechnical software, including APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW, and GRLWEAP, for complex engineering analysis and design. Mentorship & Team Coordination: Provide guidance to entry-level engineers and support staff to facilitate successful project completion. Coordinate team members to ensure project needs and schedules are met, balancing independent and team-based work. Client Interaction: Maintain effective communication with clients, participating in meetings to review project progress, address technical concerns, and provide expertise. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. New York Professional Engineering License (PE). Preferred Qualifications
New Jersey PE. Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. 15 years of experience preferred. Experience with NYSDOT, and NJDOT. Ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents. Competent analysis/design experience with slope stability (Computer software – Slope W), retaining walls, shallow and deep foundations. Experience with APILE, Group, LPILE, Seepage analysis SeepW, settlement analysis, Bulkhead and Support of Excavation Analysis. Strong computer skills including extensive knowledge of technical software; PLAXIS or MIDAS preferred. Additional Information
