Overview

The Development & Validation Advanced Engineer for Automatic Transmission, Driveline and/or Gear Reducers is responsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems. The engineer will be the single point contact for duty cycle measurement and analysis. Work closely with other engineer groups interacting with the transmission, including – but not limited to – transmission & Driveline hardware, software, calibration, thermal management, engine engineering organizations to conduct vehicle and/or dynamometer data acquisitions for use in setting system, sub-system and component requirements and for establishing unique system level durability test schedules. The advanced engineer is an expert in customer use cases that drive transmission and driveline design requirements. They will author, release and maintain technical infrastructure documentation relevant to this area of expertise, while collecting and implementing lessons learned and institutionalizing best practices. The advanced engineer will both perform testing as well as guide other supporting team members test thru test execution to ensure functional objectives and durability goals are clearly defined and then met. This includes, test planning, instrumentation development, test setup and debug, test schedule development, root cause analysis of test stoppages throughout the test and finally to lead the test article inspection and report following the end of each test. The engineer will initiate root cause analysis and solution development process in the case of test failures are identified. Responsibilities
