MFG MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Lead the effective execution of all maintenance and assigned work/projects within the plant, including external properties, with a focus on optimizing maintenance functions such as predictive preventive maintenance (PPM), spare parts, scheduling and performance. Ensure safe, efficient, and accurate work to maintain and improve the plant’s performance in Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that aligns with Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles and the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Responsibilities
Lead the execution of maintenance and projects within the plant and external properties, focusing on safety, quality, reliability and performance. Develop and optimize maintenance functions including predictive and preventive maintenance (PPM), spare parts management, scheduling and performance metrics. Provide leadership that embodies the company’s values and High Performance Work System principles. Maintain and improve plant performance in line with Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and Customer 1st strategies. Support the development and administration of CMMS and the PPM program; manage the parts room and inventory. Analyze equipment history and event data to identify root causes of critical and repetitive failures. Coordinate planning/scheduling, inventory control and maintenance purchasing for repairs, products, work schedules and meetings. Develop overall maintenance plans, including manpower for major overhauls, shutdowns and projects. Assist in budgeting and tracking maintenance costs; support the development and maintenance of maintenance budgets. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company requirements; support SQF Food Safety Systems. Communicate with operations teams and vendors regarding equipment issues and capital projects. Maintain equipment and facility documentation and drawings; ensure accuracy of records. Provide support for projects, troubleshooting and day-to-day activities. Ensure readiness of parts and materials; optimize stocking levels and minimize obsolescence. Work around ingredients and/or finished products containing allergens as required. Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 2+ years of direct maintenance supervisory experience in the food industry Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), EPA and OSHA requirements Ability to protect confidential and sensitive information Strong organizational skills and ability to define tasks with minimal supervision Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS Strong analytical skills Effective oral and written communication skills Desired
Another Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering 5+ years of technical experience in the food industry focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance Experience in continuous improvement activities Experience as a plant maintenance supervisor supervising and coaching direct reports, including performance reviews Ability to develop plans for major maintenance overhauls, shutdowns and projects Experience developing, controlling and tracking maintenance budgets Coordinate with planning/scheduling, inventory control and maintenance purchasing teams Administer the PPM program and CMMS Perform root cause analyses for equipment failures Analyze equipment history and line event data to identify failures Oversee parts room operations, inventory health and stocking level optimization Plan and schedule maintenance work using work orders and CMMS Maintain equipment and facility documentation Support projects, troubleshooting and day-to-day activities Coordinate with operations and vendors on equipment issues and capital projects Support compliance with SQF Food Safety Systems Job details
