We also utilize combination presses that can combine the different printing technologies and run them together with cold and hot foil.

CCL has state-of-the-art finishing equipment in place to supply labels that live up to, and even exceed, customers' expectations. Included are process parameters like the reel winding and slitting tolerances. Material and/or printing defects can be detected by automatic camera inspection systems and are easily eliminated by the operators.

Job Summary & Requirements Job Summary:

Based at the customer location in Plainfield, IL, this role will provide customer support for spirits and alcohol printing and packaging by being a shared technical resource and print specialist. This position will work closely alongside our customer's brand and marketing teams as part of the innovation trial process with exposure to brand owners design creation and intent and act as representative of the CCL facilities to develop and implement optimal packaging solutions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide support to CCL facilities: Portland, OR, Sonoma, CA, Sioux Falls, SD, Cold Spring, KY, Mexico City, & Robbinsville, NJ and to customer bottling halls: Plainfield, IL, Montgomery, AL, Valleyfield, CA, and Amherstburg, CA.

Represent CCL while managing key stake holders as a full onsite representative with the customer

Provide support for new packaging design and development or improvement of current ones

Drive current cost saving initiatives and identify new ones

Work to optimize cost while maintaining quality standards

Be an onsite support to assist with managing quality, application issues, and onboarding new projects.

Lead core cost saving project focused on OEE improvement and label optimization

Be a key player in assisting with the development and launch of new innovations

Hold a strong understanding of the printing process, materials, bottling lines and label application

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product designers, manufacturing engineers and marketing professionals

Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of digital, offset, flexography, gravure and screen-printing processes

Basic knowledge of pre-press, color separation and file building

Basic knowledge of color management strategies reprographics and color measurement

Understanding of pressure sensitive films, pressure sensitive papers and shrink sleeve films

Understanding of plate-making, screen-making, cylinder etching in the job preparation process

Knowledge of printing economics and what press technologies should be used

Knowledge of OEMS, Krones, PE, and LabelAire

Strong end to end knowledge of spirits bottling lines

Understanding of how print materials interact with line conditions

Strong analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to trouble-shoot, solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where standard and non-standard issues exist

Ability to work as part of a team and provide a positive work environment

High ability to be self-driven to recognize and accomplish projects

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in packaging science, engineering, or related field.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level

Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time

Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/hearing or through written communication.

Regularly use of vision abilities including close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Regularly work around moving machinery and heavy equipment.
