Citra Space Corporation
Overview
Join Citra Space Corporation and help shape the future of space domain awareness (SDA). At Citra, we specialize in developing advanced passive RF and electro-optical technologies to track, identify, and characterize space objects, ensuring the safety and sustainability of on-orbit activities. Our team tackles some of the most complex challenges in SDA, addressing threats posed by unidentified or anomalous space objects that could disrupt communications, damage infrastructure, or compromise national security. As a member of our innovative startup, you'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to solving critical problems that impact the future of global space operations. Job Description: Digital Signal Processing Engineer Location:
Colorado Springs, CO. Hybrid work schedules available but must reside in the local area or be willing to relocate. Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr This role offers the opportunity to pioneer advanced DSP solutions for satellite tracking systems, leveraging cutting-edge SDR technologies and AI-driven approaches to enhance space domain awareness capabilities. Responsibilities Algorithm Development:
Design, implement, and optimize DSP algorithms for real-time processing of satellite RF signals in embedded software-defined radio (SDR) systems. Signal Detection and Tracking:
Apply traditional and AI-based signal detection techniques to identify, demodulate, and track satellite communications in challenging RF environments. SDR Integration:
Develop and deploy DSP solutions on SDR platforms (e.g., GNUradio) for satellite signal acquisition, filtering, and modulation/demodulation. Digital Modulation:
Implement and adapt algorithms for satellite-specific modulations such as QPSK, BPSK, and OFDM. Collaboration:
Work with embedded engineers and RF hardware teams to optimize DSP performance on resource-constrained platforms. Testing and Validation:
Validate algorithm performance through simulation, lab testing, and field trials to ensure robustness against noise and interference. Documentation:
Create clear technical documentation for algorithms, system architectures, and integration processes. Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Experience:
3-5 years of professional experience in digital signal processing, with a focus on SDR/RF systems. DSP:
Proficiency in DSP algorithm design for signal detection, filtering, and modulation/demodulation. SDR:
Hands-on experience with SDR frameworks (e.g., GNUradio) and embedded DSP platforms. Programming Skills:
Experience with Rust, C++, Verilog, and/or Python Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities to address signal degradation, interference, and real-time processing constraints. Preferred Skills Experience integrating AI/ML techniques (e.g., neural networks) for signal classification or anomaly detection. Familiarity with satellite communication standards and modulation schemes. Knowledge of RF signal analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) and spectrum analyzers. Familiarity with FPGA programming or vector-based processors for accelerating DSP workloads. Contributions to open-source DSP libraries.
