Position Systems Engineering First Line Manager – Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (Systems Engineering, BDS Systems Engineering Capability Team)

Overview Lead a team of engineers that provide systems engineering (SE) and MBSE expertise across multiple programs and projects in the enterprise. Build and maintain relationships with direct reports, customers, suppliers, program leadership, and peers; champion inclusion, continuous learning, and professional development.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes applying SE through MBSE methodology.
Serve as the BDS MBSE representative on SE / MBSE Governance Technical Boards, Councils, and Committees.
Partner with peers and stakeholders across BDS divisions to address systemic challenges in MBSE adoption and execution; identify tool and process improvement opportunities.
Lead the team responsible for monitoring and addressing MBSE Help Desk tickets.
Lead the team responsible for MBSE tool updates, project migrations, practice guides, and support to programs.
Collaborate closely with IT and Business Unit peers to provide the optimal MBSE tool solution.
Promote employee recognition and cultivate a culture that enhances satisfaction and retains a skilled workforce.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
9 or more years of related work experience.
Experience leading projects across multiple organizations and functions.
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering.
Experience applying SE through MBSE methodology and tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Control Account Management (CAM) / Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
Security Clearance Must obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
Salary Range (per year)
Huntsville, AL – $137,700 – $186,300
Arlington, VA – $147,050 – $198,950
Berkeley, MO – $137,700 – $186,300
El Segundo & Huntington Beach, CA – $147,050 – $198,950
Everett, Seattle & Tukwila, WA – $147,050 – $198,950
Mesa, AZ – $137,700 – $186,300
Oklahoma City, OK – $128,350 – $173,650
Philadelphia, PA – $147,050 – $198,950
