Fabrication
Value Stream Planning Leader
to be responsible for NPI as well as production planning and scheduling of the Fabrication value stream which includes machining, heat treat, wet processing and paint of Moog detail parts and sub-assemblies. The position also includes the leadership and development of the Planning and dispatch teams within the Fabrication Value Stream. You will have direct input into Materials Management policies and procedures as they relate to and support Site and Group strategies. Reporting to the Fabrication Ops Director. This on-site position is based in Torrance, CA (Los Angeles area) and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Value Stream in developing & deploying a successful material planning strategy based on current load, future growth, and new product introduction, with a result of proper inventory management Develop and implement tools, processes, training aids, and standard work to drive continuous improvement within the Planning/Materials function of the Value Streams. Perform and facilitate Capacity Planning analysis to identify constraints within the Value Stream and make recommendations to remedy in coordination with the Value Stream Manager and/or other related functions, which aligns with and supports the Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning (SIOP) process. Based on Capacity Planning and constraint management processes, development of a high-level balanced Master Production Schedule which is critical to support operational success of the business. Provide leadership, facilitation, and coaching to support the performance and development of the assigned Value Stream Planners. Provide oversight across Value Stream related Planning/Materials processes through Leader Standard Work & “Gemba” activities, to drive process performance and continuous improvement. Create, monitor and report status on achieving Value Stream initiatives and KPI’s. Identify roadblocks and actions through facilitation of problem solving methodologies. Advances Lean Management System through active participation/facilitation in daily Tiered/SQDCL meetings. Improve functional efficiencies, identifying, supporting and/or leading lean & continuous improvement initiatives and identifying and implementing advanced lean scheduling techniques. Actively involved in the selection and on-boarding of new Planners within a Value Stream. Direct interaction with a broad range of senior, technical, and functional management and subject matter experts throughout the organization

Bachelor's Degree in the field of Business, Engineering or related fields is required Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in the field of Materials, Supply Chain, Program Management, or Operations Working knowledge and experience with Lean principles Team Leader experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications Include
APICS certification or coursework or other industry standard certifications are a plus. Proven general capabilities in the areas of understanding technical processes, systems and products in functional area, business acumen and understanding customers' needs Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at any one time Proven specific capabilities in leading cross functional teams driving change to impact targeted initiatives Knowledge of Demand Driven Process, DDMRP experience a strong plus Supply chain experience SQL programming experience SAP experience A planning, operations or technical background is preferable Experience making professional presentations to upper management Strong analytical skills; ability to collect data and present in run charts or bi-modal type distributions. Strong statistical background is a plus. Experience in the aerospace industry Production Planning experience in a machine shop environment Proficiency with advanced Excel functions (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) Have the sound understanding of general material control systems as well as a detailed understanding of the computer based control systems used at Moog. This includes the master schedule, requirements planning, inventory control, kitting and shop floor control Have the personal drive and human relations skills to cope with the conflicting objectives of maximum shipments and minimum inventories Outstanding communication skills since they must be a driving force across functional groups that have different priorities or plans on how to manage change and growth within a Value Stream. Some have a customer focus while others have a technical focus; this position will be responsible for helping to facilitate pulling everyone in the same direction so that a proper Materials strategy can be established that will best achieve customer on time delivery and Moog cost and quality commitments

Torrance, CA $120,000.00–$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Key Responsibilities
