Under general supervision from the Chief Medical Officer the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) provides oversight and leadership on agency-wide information initiatives through the use of a variety of systems and tools to support and promote improvement in patient outcomes. The QAM will lead organizational quality improvement efforts by supporting clinical operations by ensuring the reporting of quality data has the highest integrity and provides recommendations for continued improvement in operations with the ultimate goal of supporting chronic care model and case management to improve our patients quality of life. Responsibilities
Support clinic leaders with Patient Relations concerns, complaints and grievances; ensure investigative/diligence is conducted and provide recommendations to resolve patient matter Ensure integrity of quality data collected and reported is maintained and consistent across the agency; which includes collaborating with both internal resources (Data Coordinator, HIM, IT) and outside agencies to improve reporting Develop and implement continuous improvement strategy, programs, and activities to support clinical care teams in improving health outcomes for patients including but not limited to the collection and reporting of quality data, conducting workflow analytics, benchmark determinations, and measurement of outcomes Oversee timely processing of quality-related incident reports Support Department Directors with grant administration and prepare grant-required reporting Define quality data indicators to be tracked and reported Chair the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) multi-disciplinary team; create and implement CQI initiatives and provide oversight, including but not limited to preparing quarterly reports, providing feedback to the organization on the effectiveness of selected interventions on measured indicators Supervise Quality Assurance staff and ensure performance standards are met; coach and counsel to meet deadlines and provide timely and excellent customer service to staff Maintain open and effective working relations interdepartmentally and with related community agencies Actively develop continuing professional expertise in relation to work responsibilities Other duties as assigned Provide the highest possible level of service to clients Promote teamwork and cooperative effort among employees Maintain safe practices Abide by current NVIHs policies and procedures Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties: Bachelor of Science degree; in Nursing earned from an accredited United States College/University desirable Five (5) years of experience in healthcare quality or clinical role; Public Health or population management preferred Understanding of healthcare benchmarks such as GPRA and HEDIS Possess leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure timeliness with completing projects and duties and foster buy-in from stakeholders and gain/maintain credibility Experience in leadership with proven skills in supervising, motivating and managing staff performance Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style from executive level, clinical and to the laymen Able to effectively work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, and diplomacy Skill in analyzing complex and sensitive patient information to evaluate alternatives and reaching sound conclusions Knowledge of and ability to comply with HIPAA/HITCH regulations and other privacy laws and regulation to provide confidentiality of all protected health and personally identifiable information Self-motivated and able to work independently Computer literacy and experience with electronic file systems, including but not limited to MS Office Suite and EHR systems Ability to analyze data through advanced spreadsheet or reporting skills Reliable Transportation, Willing to travel for meetings and trainings and ability to adhere to regular attendance Native Preference.
