Special Projects Coordinator, Senior (GIS)

— coordinates and manages project or program activities to meet departmental priorities, goals, and objectives. Salary Range:

$64,893 - $104,479 Essential Functions

Coordinates or manages assigned projects, programs, and activities; recommends, plans, administers, and evaluates policies, procedures, processes, systems, standards, and service offerings; ensures projects comply with priorities, goals, objectives, plans, specifications, agreements, contracts, policies, codes, ordinances, and regulations. Monitors project requirements, activities, and services to ensure satisfactory performance and timeliness; resolves problems; attends meetings; sets and monitors schedules; checks progress; provides status updates and reports; and provides information and technical assistance to project teams, county staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders. Serves as liaison between the director and department staff, team members, other departments, and outside agencies regarding projects and activities; acts for the director when needed; advises on potential problems and develops solutions and recommendations. May manage, direct, and evaluate assigned staff; develop and oversee employee work schedules; review timesheets; address employee concerns; assist with performance appraisals; direct work; train staff in operations, policies, and procedures. May organize, prioritize, and assign work; ensure subordinates have resources; monitor progress; consult with staff to resolve complex problems; provide technical expertise; deliver progress reports to management; assist with procedure manual revisions as appropriate. Develops and implements strategic initiatives, tactical plans, and systems for knowledge gathering, analysis, and dissemination to improve operational efficiency and productivity; manages administrative aspects of assigned projects and evaluates progress against performance and quality metrics. Administers budgets for assigned projects; coordinates with departments on planning and cost estimating; prepares cost estimates; monitors expenditures; tracks payments; processes purchase orders and invoices; maintains related documentation. Conducts training; writes or revises standard operating procedures and manuals; coordinates information requests from the public, media, county staff, and elected officials; assists various internal and external customers with information discrepancies, complaints, and related information; prepares and delivers reports, white papers, and presentations. Supplemental Information

This position works in the GIS Department to streamline the GIS-related plan review and permitting process while serving as the primary GIS liaison for the One-Stop-Shop. Responsibilities include coordinating review and compliance support, communicating project needs and status, inspecting developments, guiding GIS addressing staff, maintaining service timelines, recommending process improvements, managing addressing updates, tracking project progress, and ensuring QA/QC of addresses and street names. Competitive candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, or a closely related field; and five years of experience in GIS, Plan Review, Addressing, and Project/Program management. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field; five years of experience in project or program management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
