Overview

Second Shift Production Supervisor (Open) – Billerica, MA The Second Shift Plant Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day activities for a segment within the industrial, specialty and medical distribution and gas filling operations of a production location. This hands-on position assists with managing all gas cylinder handling and compliance with applicable Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECORE, and other business-related compliance activities. In particular you will: Partner with other Plant leaders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Promote a strong safety and compliance culture, correct unsafe acts or conditions without delay, and enforce safety regulations. Ensure all safety materials are delivered as required and documentation is archived per requirements. Assign tasks to workers according to customer needs, current stock levels and worker expertise, including loading/unloading of all fleets and production of all cylinders required on schedule. Implement measures to improve the stripping and loading of trucks, quality of stores controls, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Review incoming shipment post-trip and reroute drops off current shipments; notify distribution list of deliveries removed from shipment. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. Train new workers and cross-train employees to continue production during personnel shortages or fill as needed. Approve time worked and coordinate all time balances, including approval and managing planned time off. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications

High school degree/GED required. Associate's degree or technical degree/certification preferred. A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a distribution environment preferred. Prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis and gas lab equipment is a plus. Prior experience utilizing SAP preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness. Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to clearly convey information and listen effectively. Strong math skills; ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently. Detail-oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately.
