Overview

Avera St Mary's Hospital – Temporary position, primarily days with on-call involvement during nights, weekends and holidays in the United States. Pay range: $40.00 per hour (rate dependent on experience). Flex staff are utilized according to department staffing needs with an elevated rate of pay. Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols. Initiate appropriate intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam requires immediate attention. Review indications for exams ordered and report inappropriate indications to supervisor. Provide exam data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to the reading radiologist. Utilize computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS, EMR systems and perform general clerical duties. Archive image data for permanent storage and transmit images to the radiologist group; retrieve stored images from PACS or disc backup as needed and create CDs accurately. Demonstrate understanding of medical and legal implications and responsibilities related to imaging reports and images to protect patients and the organization. Maintain department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment and infection control. Assist/mentor staff and students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations and orientation. Assist with data collection and maintenance of records as required by department management, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as required by the facility or law. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience

Associates or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 days Expectations and Standards
