POSITION TITLE: Certified Somatic/Movement/Dance Therapist REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical Services DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The primary role of the Adjunctive Therapist is to plan, implement, and facilitate therapeutic groups or activities for all adult and adolescent patients. The Adjunctive Therapist utilizes the modalities in which they are certified (e.g., music, occupational or physical rehabilitation, art, recreation, movement) and serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team providing services to adults and adolescents under Santa Rosa Behavioral Health Hospital\'s care for emotional or substance use problems. Responsibilities

Conduct group and individual sessions for patients, within scope of practice, drawing from mediums such as music, art therapy, movement therapy, physical therapy, occupational rehabilitation, exercise, games, or leisure activities Demonstrate sound application of the theory and methodology of their certified adjunctive discipline Provide individual activity therapy as ordered by the patient\'s physician Communicate with community resources and partners to schedule hospital groups and supplement programming (e.g., canine therapy, equestrian therapy, and other community-based resources) Administrative/General duties

Evaluate patient progress and document results in patient charts and department records Contribute to discharge planning Perform routine and assigned clinical and administrative tasks Provide direct support to Adjunctive Therapist and Behavioral Health Aides, review and sign off on their documentation Uphold the organization\'s ethics and customer service standards; commit to quality and process improvement Performs related duties as requested Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree in Psychology or related field with a certification in music, art, physical, occupational, or recreation therapy One year of experience in a health care field with emphasis in adjunctive therapy Current CPR certification required, or obtained within initial orientation period Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO Familiarity with psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment Demonstrated group process, teaching or training skills Experience in psychiatric care environment preferred Skills and Abilities

Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with diverse backgrounds Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office) Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to lead, influence, and motivate others; collaborative work style Ability to work in a fast-paced, expanding organization Physical Requirements
