Summary : The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medical or surgical services to patients, collecting and documenting data, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ordering and scheduling necessary studies and professional consultations, and providing direct patient care services including prescribing medications and other therapies as needed.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with other healthcare providers, ensuring knowledge of statutes and regulations relevant to advanced practice nursing.
Practice within the advanced specialty and role appropriate to educational preparation.
Assess and manage patient health problems in hospital, clinic, or outpatient settings.
Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and long‑term health issues.
Obtain history and physical examinations for patients of all appropriate age groups per scope of practice.
Interpret laboratory and radiological findings and utilize critical thinking skills to individualize patient care.
Prescribe medications and supportive therapies to maintain health.
Perform advanced procedures as verified and approved per credentialing committee.
Educate patients and families about preventive care and use of prescribed treatments.
Maintain accurate, legible medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
Education : Master of Science in Nursing
Experience : 2–3 years in a relevant setting
Licenses & Certifications : APRN license in state of employment, RN license in state of employment or compact, BLS
Work Schedule : Varies
Work Type : Full Time
