Overview

Pediatrician role at Maxmed Healthcare in Fort Drum, NY. This position is a contract health care worker (HCW) assigned to Fort Drum MEDDAC Guthrie Ambulatory Clinic. The work is performed at Fort Drum with notification two weeks prior to reassignment to another location within a 40 mile commuting radius of the assigned MTF. Responsibilities

Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Perform systematic physical examinations and interpret findings to form a diagnosis regarding physical, emotional, or social disabilities. Prescribe medications. Conduct interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians regarding patient management, including evaluating and revising therapeutic plans and managing high-risk, unstable, or extremely complex patients. Analyze epidemiological, biostatistical, environmental, and other appropriate scientific data. Initiate, implement, and oversee disease management and education programs addressing education/self-care needs identified by the patient and family. Qualifications

Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or an approved program with ECFMG certification; graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the AOA; or evidence of ECFMG certification for graduates of international medical schools. Certification: The DoD recognizes board certifications issued by the ABMS or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists. Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the ACGME. Experience: One year of experience as a Pediatrician within the last two years, prior to contract execution. Licensure: Current, valid, unrestricted medical license in one of the 50 U.S. states and/or territories; license must remain current and unrestricted throughout the contract. Foreign Medical Graduates: Certification by the ECFMG for physicians; CGFNS for nurses; residency programs must be ABMS- or ACGME-accredited; Fifth Pathway is not acceptable. Hours of Performance: Clinic duty hours are 8-hour shifts from 07:30 to 16:30, including a 60-minute unpaid lunch. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, with federal holidays observed; a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. Duty Hours: Monday through Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, with federal holidays; a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. On-Call Hours: N/A Overage Hours: N/A Call-Back Hours: N/A Scheduling: Schedules are coordinated by the Primary Care Clinic Chief and may change based on medical necessity and clinic needs. Once set, changes require COR approval and contractor concurrence. The HCW will not be allowed to make up time not worked. Work is performed at the MTF; telework or taking work home is not allowed. Payment is for hours worked at contract rates; the COR will receive the schedule in advance. Payment will not be made for temporary work stoppages beyond the MTF’s control. Schedule Management: When directed by the Government, HCWs shall remain on duty to complete patient treatment if lack of continuity of care would jeopardize patient health. Routine administrative tasks at the end of a shift are excluded from this provision. Recording HCW Time: HCWs must personally record hours worked in the DMHRSi system as required by the MTF. Closures: Planned closures due to training, holidays, or emergencies are compensated only for actual hours worked. Training, Occupational Health and TB Screening

New Employee Orientation (New Comer’s Orientation). All training listed in the Common Federal Training List provided by the MTF (for example Anti-Terrorism, OPSEC). All training assigned in the Relias site by the MTF (for example Patient Safety, Blood Borne Pathogens). All mandatory training assigned by the MTF (Monthly Emergency Management Code, Safety, etc.). HCW shall complete all required specific training as directed by MTF and DHA policy and regulations for the same civilian/military with the same qualification standards. Orientation will be scheduled by the COR. Training lists are updated regularly and subject to change. Immunizations, annual vaccinations, medical testing (eg TB testing, N95 respirator fit testing) and physical examinations as required at initial placement. Occupational Health: HCW shall obtain documentation of required physical testing and fit testing for respirators as applicable. Tuberculosis Screening: Immunizations must be up to date per AR 40-562 and CDC/ACIP recommendations. HCW will be screened before employment and annually for tuberculosis. A tuberculin skin test with 10 mm or more induration requires chest radiograph and evaluation; interpretation considers vaccination history and prior infection. Place of Performance

Holidays follow official rules; if the area is closed for a holiday, payment is for actual hours worked. Closures due to weather or other acts will be handled similarly. Core Duties
