Overview

The Division of Transplant Surgery and the Department of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases Transplant Research Center (TRC) is seeking a Research Nurse to implement and oversee multiple single-center and multi-site national studies focused on novel organ sources for transplantation and COVID-19 in the transplant recipient population. The Research Nurse should work well in a fast-paced collaborative atmosphere, maintain independence, and be passionate about participant well-being and improving long-term trajectories through research and clinical care.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Study Management – Pre-Study: Anticipates research requirements, collaborates in protocol and consent development, prepares regulatory documents, clarifies concerns with senior staff, proposes alternatives to improve protocol implementation.

Study Management – Pre-Initiation: Designs methods for data collection, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, prepares drug data sheets, monitors IRB approvals, ensures trial elements are in place before accrual, coordinates with sponsors.

Recruitment & Enrollment & Data Collection: Recruits participants, collects data from internal/external sources, monitors compliance, communicates protocol deviations, performs study procedures such as investigational product administration, phlebotomy, vital signs.

Evaluation & Oversight: Provides nursing and research support, coordinates with clinical teams, evaluates interventions, applies clinical knowledge to determine adverse events, evaluates participation, provides rationale for actions, oversees protocol compliance, educates participants, participates in informed consent.

Quality Assurance: Assists with development and review of SOPs, maintains records of correspondence.

Other

Manages multiple projects at different stages, integrates new trials with current activity, collaborates for study results presentation/publication, may author/coauthor manuscripts.

Minimum Qualifications

Registered nurse licensed in the State of Maryland.

Current CPR certification.

Maintain licensure and certification during employment.

Additional education may substitute for required experience; additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related discipline.

Benefits Hybrid School of Medicine Campus; Full Time; Schedule M-F 9am-5pm with one weekend on call every 4-5 weeks; FLSA Exempt; Starting salary $64,600 - $113,300.
