Overview
As a Mental Health Practitioner, Clinical Trainee, or Mental Health Professional in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division, you’ll work in our ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program. Mental Health Practitioners provide community-based rehabilitative services to clients ages 18+. This is a great opportunity to work with clients in their homes, where they are most comfortable. Nystrom & Associates is a group of professional care providers from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, addiction treatment, and nursing who are committed to helping individuals and families that are experiencing personal, emotional, marital, or psychological challenges. We are all about helping! The purpose of the programs is to help individuals who have a mental illness function independently in their homes or places of residence. Services are provided in four areas: Basic Living and Social Skills, Community Intervention, Medication Education and Transitioning to Community Living. We are looking for a compassionate individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve. Responsibilities
Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to clients and/or their families (if working with children) in the home, community, and/or school Assist clients in identifying goals for functional improvement and work with them to meet their goals Design and implement treatment/intervention in-home reflective of client needs Receive clinical supervision from a qualified staff, and obtain continuing education units Employees pursuing professional licensure are eligible to participate in Nystrom & Associates’ Professional Development Track. The Professional Development Track gives early career therapists the opportunity to work as an Outpatient Therapist after 9 months of providing Community-Based services. This track also has a specific focus on continuing education and an emphasis on training and advancement. In order to be considered for this position, you must be qualified in at least one of the following ways: Meet the Mental Health Practitioner requirements as per MN State Statute 245I.04.04. These qualifications include the following: Hold a Master\'s degree or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields Hold a Bachelor\'s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields AND 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illness Candidates who have completed a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served, and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields may qualify and are encouraged to apply regardless of whether they have 2000 hours of experience Have 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illness Meet the Clinical Trainee requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.06 Has completed an accredited graduate program of study to prepare the staff person for independent licensure as a mental health professional Meet the Mental Health Professional requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.02 Licensed as a LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in Minnesota Additionally, You Must Meet The Following Requirements Desire to work with children and families and/or adults in their homes; this includes walking, stairs, and the ability to crouch, stoop, sit on floors, and stand for periods of time Ability to work independently; Valid driver’s license/auto insurance/reliable vehicle; ability to drive a minimum of a 30-mile radius around primary clinic location Must be proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) If interested in working with adults, must be able to meet with them during general daytime hours Meta
