This respiratory care practitioner performs as a clinically competent practitioner of respiratory care with minimal guidance. Provides respiratory care to patients, including therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and related systems. Administers respiratory therapy (oxygen and other gases, aerosolized medications, positive pressure devices, ventilators, resuscitation devices, etc.). Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments. Applies age-specific considerations to provide individualized treatments and care. Maintains efficiency across clinical/critical care settings and collaborates with the healthcare team. Participates in additional training or certification to work in specialized clinical areas. Administer respiratory therapy and related treatments as prescribed Conduct pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments Provide age-appropriate care and tailor treatments to patient needs Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure quality patient care Engage in ongoing training to develop expertise in specialized areas Qualifications
Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred from an AMA-approved Respiratory program Ability to function as a self-directed team member Valid State of Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC prior to Orientation BLS / ACLS Certified Employment Details
