Pediatric Psychologist, Hematology/Oncology – open-rank faculty position in the Section of Psychology within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics. Job Description

The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is a national leader among childhood cancer, hematology, and bone marrow transplant programs. The hired Pediatric Psychologist will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country. Responsibilities

Provide clinical assessments, brief interventions, consultation-liaison services, and outpatient therapy to children and adolescents with hematology/oncology-related health concerns. Engage in interdisciplinary care including clinic evaluations, treatment planning, liaison with medical colleagues, and education. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that may include pediatric neuropsychology, psychology, hematology/oncology providers, advance practice providers, social workers, child life specialists, and hospital-based teachers. Allocate up to 80% of time to patient care and up to 20% to research; reduction in clinical responsibilities may be possible for candidates with strong scholarship and grant funding. Attend weekly team meetings, participate in medical rounds and family care conferences as needed. Contribute to clinical research activities and program development; opportunities exist for training and supervision of psychology graduate students, interns, and fellows. Maintain patient- and family-centered care, coordinate with schools and community services as appropriate, and document treatment and assessment notes according to departmental standards. Provide supervision to fellows, interns, psychometrists, students, and other staff as assigned. Qualifications

PhD or PsyD from an APA/CPA-accredited program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology Completion of an APA/CPA-accredited internship Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship with a focus in pediatric psychology Currently licensed as a psychologist or eligible to practice in Georgia Eligible to obtain board certification within seven years of hire Preference given to candidates with related pediatric hematology/oncology experience and/or board certification (ABPP) Education & Experience

Four years of direct experience in the assessment and care of pediatric patients in inpatient and/or outpatient settings Experience in clinical supervision Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Proficient in neuropsychological and/or psychological assessments and treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults Licensure & Certification

Georgia licensed psychologist; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment Additional Details

Salary and rank at Emory University School of Medicine are commensurate with experience.
