Italy invites applications from outstanding candidates for up to three Assistant Professors or Senior Post-Doc positions in the fields of

High Performance Computing and Parallel Algorithms . The selected candidates will contribute to and lead cutting-edge research in the following areas: Scientific Computing and Large-scale computing High-Performance Computing (HPC): performance modelling and optimization of HPC applications, power-efficient computing, and exascale computing. Parallel and Distributed Systems: design of scalable parallel algorithms and architectures for large-scale systems. Machine Learning and AI in HPC: distributed training and deployment of machine learning models on supercomputers. Large-scale Graph Analytics: design of parallel and distributed graph algorithms. Network and HPC interconnect In-network computing and Programmable Networks: offloading computation to network devices and developing network-aware applications. Network Topologies and Interconnects: optimization of network architectures and scalable interconnects for large parallel systems. Design of Development of communication-efficient and topology-aware communication algorithms GPU-centric communication. Design of Parallel Programming models and runtime optimization for emerging architectures like processing in-memory. GPU Programming Energy-Efficient Computing: Research into energy-aware scheduling, load balancing, and power-efficient algorithms for HPC. Responsibilities Develop a strong, externally funded research program in HPC, parallel computing, and related areas. Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in computer science, high-performance computing, and parallel computing. Supervise and mentor undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students. Collaborate with industry partners, research centers, and other academic institutions. Participate in departmental and university service activities. Essential Qualifications : A PhD in computer science, information engineering, or a closely related field * English proficiency certification (e.g., TOEFL or equivalent) Oustanding academic records. Ideal candidates must have a record of high-quality publications in top-tier journals (TDPS, FGCS, ACM TAco ) and conferences (SC, PPoPP, IPDPS, etc..) in the field of systems, in areas related to HPC, parallel computing, or scalable algorithms Experience in teaching and mentoring students. Demonstrated potential for securing external research funding. Experience with MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, or similar parallel programming models is highly desirable.
