The Role You'll Contribute
Interprets provider orders and prescriptions, compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines and professional standards. Consults with patients and others regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions. Provides drug information to patients, health care workers and others as necessary. Oversees and supervises pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff including directing workflow and ensuring completion of duties. Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of practice. Interprets prescription and medication orders completely and accurately and completes clarification and validation steps for safe and effective patient care in compliance with regulations. Provides professional judgment in advising and counseling patients and healthcare teams. Monitors drug utilization information and detects potential drug interactions, overlaps, dosing issues, and other situations. Participates in Code Blue and other emergency situations to ensure adequate drug supply and appropriate drug use. Oversees and supervises pharmacy technicians and other staff, directing workflow and ensuring duties are completed. Maintains knowledge and skills for safe and accurate compounding, meeting regulatory and record-keeping requirements. Maintains accurate records of dispensing transactions of legend and controlled drugs, including wholesale transactions. Demonstrates speed and accuracy in routine processing functions. Communicates clearly all special situations, problems or instructions to facilitate resolutions. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree, prefers PharmD Licensed Texas Pharmacist Inpatient pharmacy experience EEO Statement:
