Clinical Speech Pathologist - Pediatrics - Center for Autism, Cleveland Clinic. Join the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Center for Autism, Rocky River, and work alongside passionate caregivers delivering patient-first healthcare. The Speech Pathologist evaluates pediatric patients for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, including autism, and cares for children aged 18 months to 8 years. We are looking for caregivers who are compassionate, empathetic, patient, flexible, open to feedback, dedicated, reliable and enjoy working with young children. Candidates will work closely with BCBAs and RBTs. Prior experience with autistic patients is preferred but not required. A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am–4:30pm. Responsibilities
Provide clinical services to patients. Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures. Evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients. Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis. Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and families. Determine therapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy. Select assistive speech devices to improve the patient’s communication. Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy. Provide observations about hearing and other behaviors to help determine the need for other services. Maintain records of all services. Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such as schools and employees. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in speech/language pathology Hold or be eligible for a Speech Pathology (SP) license from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Hold a Speech Pathology license in the state of Ohio Hold Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Completion of a nine-month clinical fellowship year Additional Details
Ability to stand for long periods of time. Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Other
