Overview
Anesthesia Technician I - Surgery - Full Time 8 Hours Evenings (Non-Exempt) (Union) – USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). Position provides technical support for anesthesia services related to supportive anesthesia care within Perioperative Services and ancillary departments as needed to facilitate the smooth flow of surgical or special procedures. Responsibilities
Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies. Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules. Cleans, organizes and maintains anesthesia workroom, supplies and equipment. Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre-, intra-, and post-anesthesia with consideration of age-specific needs for various patient groups. Perform basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment and report defective equipment and malfunctions promptly. Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records for equipment, supplies, and department activities. Assist with transport of patients, laboratory specimens, and pickup of blood as necessary. Ability to travel between facilities or other treatment locations as necessary. Assist with setting up invasive and non-invasive monitoring and ventilator equipment in ORs and PACU as needed. Operate Steris machine to sterilize equipment and keep records according to policy. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience as an anesthesia technician in an acute care setting. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients. Preferred Qualifications
Specialized/technical training; graduate of an American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) approved program. Certified Anesthesiology Technician (ASATT). Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date (Required within LA City only). Compensation
The hourly rate range for this position is $30.50 - $51.85.
