Description
JOB SCOPE:
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacological management, and integrated care for children, adults and families across our
mental health (Article 31)
and
substance use (OASAS 822)
programs, as well as within our
CCBHC model of care . This role requires flexibility to rotate across Manhattan and Bronx sites, collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, and a strong commitment to integrated, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice.
Provide integrated care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Develop and maintain individualized treatment and recovery plans with clients and the care team.
Deliver crisis intervention and clinical support as needed.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, nurses, and peer specialists to ensure continuity of care.
Document all clinical services in compliance with OMH (Article 31), OASAS 822, and CCBHC standards.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain current knowledge of psychiatric medications, integrated treatment modalities, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current New York State Nurse Practitioner License with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.
DEA certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Experience working within mental health and substance use treatment settings (Article 31, OASAS 822, CCBHC or similar) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and integrated treatment models.
Minimum 2 years of outpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
