PracticeLink JOB SPECIFICS The Clinical Neuropsychologist is a specialist applying knowledge of brain anatomy, physiology, and patterns to assess brain function in medical patients. This specialist may see inpatients and outpatients. Their assessments help in diagnosing conditions such as dementia and developmental delays, and in making recommendations regarding educational supports, decisional capacity, discharge planning, supervision needs, patient/family education, and return to work or school. They also perform pre-surgical cognitive and psychosocial assessments for patients awaiting epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation, cochlear implants, and other neurologic interventions. Overview Signing Bonuses - $10,000 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for patients within a Level 1 Trauma Center, including acute care hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, neurological institute, and children’s hospital. Manage and oversee psychometrists assisting with evaluations. Interpret test data, infer patient behavior and personality traits, and develop treatment plans to improve behavior or cognition. Provide feedback to patients and families, considering cultural, educational, and language needs. Complete evaluation reports promptly, clearly communicating results and recommendations. Offer follow-up care as needed. Consult and liaise within multispecialty clinics and teams. Maintain continuing education and stay updated on medical conditions and patient populations. Uphold professional standards of conduct as per licensing boards and OSF Healthcare policies. Build positive relationships within the hospital and external agencies. The salary range for this position is $42.44-$54.41 per hour, salaried, with potential bonuses or incentives. The OSF Community Recognized on Forbes list of Best Employers by State for six consecutive years. Qualifications REQUIRED: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited program. Completion of a two-year fellowship in Neuropsychology. Valid Illinois clinical psychology license. Board certification or eligibility in Neuropsychology, or pending licensure application. PREFERRED: Experience with adult, geriatric, and adolescent evaluations in medical settings. Experience with inpatient decision-making capacity evaluations.
