In this vital role, you will deliver crucial psychological services to inmates at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will have a crucial role in providing mental health services to the inmates at SCI Phoenix. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments and evaluations using a variety of psychological diagnostic measures to determine the inmates\' intellectual functioning, personality, and other related factors. You will also be responsible for providing individual therapy sessions and crisis intervention for inmates. Additionally, you will be involved in screening inmates and making referrals for psychiatric or other mental health services as needed. Your role as a Licensed Psychologist plays a vital part in the overall well-being and rehabilitation of the inmates at SCI Phoenix.

Responsibilities

Provide psychological assessments and evaluations using a range of diagnostic measures to determine intellectual functioning, personality, and related factors.

Provide individual therapy sessions and crisis intervention for inmates as needed.

Screen inmates and make referrals for psychiatric or other mental health services.

Contribute to the overall well-being and rehabilitation of inmates at SCI Phoenix.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications Special Requirements:

You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

As an employee in the Department of Corrections, you must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
