Airworthiness Analyst (Engineer Planning Analyst 3)
Mission Technologies, a division of HII – a leading provider of advanced capabilities for defense and space programs – is seeking an Airworthiness Analyst to support the Air Force Unmanned Systems Branch at Hurlburt Field, FL.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) data packages and support FAA airworthiness directives, alternate methods of compliance, and supplemental type certificate processes.
Assist in reviewing, developing, and implementing Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) airworthiness policies and procedures for USSOCOM and USAF.
Develop and author Airworthiness Safety Releases (ASRs) for use in FAA Certificate of Waiver or Authorization (COA) applications and maintain the ASR program for UAS Group systems.
Draft ASR memorandums for government review, approval, and signature and track ASR approvals.
Support USAF UAS cyber security exemptions and provide briefings on counter‑unmanned aircraft systems (C‑UAS) efforts, including attendance and coordination of C‑UAS meetings and events.
Qualifications
Minimum 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 4 years experience with a Master’s; or High School Diploma with 10 years experience.
6 years of experience in airworthiness with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Working knowledge of FAA and Air Force airworthiness certification processes, MIL‑HDBK‑516, MIL‑STD‑882, and system safety.
Experience with technical documents, determining sufficiency for compliance with specifications, summarizing findings, recommending changes, and communicating results to program offices.
DOD Secret clearance required.
