R&D Development Engineer (Mechanical) Job Description

You will be working with a great team of dedicated experts and leaders in the Medical Device Industry who will support your continued growth. You will learn from our Engineers, Clinicians, Sales Leaders, and other industry professionals about all facets of state of the art medical device development and improvement. Your Role

Changes to existing product given specific input requirements and constraints. Generates design documentation such as CAD models, drawings, BOM, test protocols, test reports, Design Input and Output documents, and Engineering Change Tasks. Occasionally produces prototypes for evaluation, development, and test, which may include assembly and limited machining. Works with vendors on component design, fabrication, and supplier-initiated change tasks. Develops and executes engineering studies, analyzes data, provides recommendations You Are The Right Fit If

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics; Mechanical Engineering preferred, with 3+ years in product development or sustaining engineering. 2+ years of experience working with mechanical systems, engineering principles, and design tools including CAD (Solid Works preferred) and PLM systems. Proficient in statistical analysis and data interpretation; experience with Minitab or similar software. Familiar with regulated industries, ideally medical devices, including knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, and ISO 60601 standards. Effective communicator and team contributor with strong technical writing skills and the ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and technical data. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. The pay range for this position in (Colorado Springs, CO) is $71,000 to $114,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long‑term incentives may be offered.
