Senior Production Engineer, Liquefaction
Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects, the Plaquemines Parish (PQ) Facility in Point Celeste, LA, serve global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.
Job Overview This Senior Production Engineer, Liquefaction will join our Integrated Production Excellence team and be responsible for optimizing the availability and performance of the PQ Facility LNG liquefaction trains and supporting overall facility production system optimization efforts.
Responsibilities
Set daily production targets and define operating limits for the PQ Facility LNG trains, engaging with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to develop production plans.
Build and maintain real-time, online surveillance and monitoring models to optimize availability and performance.
Analyze deviations from live operating envelope limits and identify actions required to safely and reliably maximize LNG rundown.
Identify short‑, medium‑ and long‑term availability and reliability improvement initiatives using insights from real‑time system and physics‑based/data‑driven models.
Identify production risks that could impact availability and reliability and develop mitigation plans.
Provide input to weekly and monthly production reviews and follow up on actions to improve train performance.
Review, validate, report, and manage production loss events in a timely manner to maximize availability and reliability.
Lead or participate in Engineering Investigation Requests (EIRs) and Management of Change (MoC) required to improve train performance.
Lead or participate in production loss root cause analyses (RCAs) when required.
Gather assumptions on train performance and provide timely input to forecast and annual delivery plan processes.
Support the Long‑Term Service Agreement (LTSA) process and provide required analysis.
Support development of Integrated Production Excellence standards and procedures.
Capture lessons learned from the PQ Facility and provide input to other Venture Global LNG projects/sites as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
Minimum five years’ experience working as a Production Engineer with a demonstrated track record of production performance improvement.
Experience in pre‑treatment required.
Experience supporting commissioning activities.
Oil and Gas experience required, with strong preference for LNG; petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable.
Travel to other sites as needed.
