Instrumentation & Controls Engineer 3 - Nuclear

Sargent & Lundy This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week. Responsibilities
Work on a multi-discipline engineering team involved in nuclear power plant instrumentations and controls betterment projects, integrating electrical and mechanical engineering with control theory. Work with electronic process sensors, digital controllers, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors to improve nuclear power plant functionality. Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment and perform engineering calculations for plant upgrades and modifications. Participate in mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training to expand knowledge in the engineering discipline. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for project coordination and field verification of designs. Qualifications
A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (from an ABET-accredited program) with strong coursework in analog and digital control systems. A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering for power plant control systems. Coursework in mechatronics is desirable but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English (Speak, Read, and Write). We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Awards & Recognition / Benefits
