Verification that Transmission Substation Equipment is commissioned in compliance with project contract and specification requirements, conforms to design operational feasibility, and is set up and tested per the supplier’s requirements within the engineer’s discipline capacity. Set up equipment and perform equipment calibration. Confirm device set points per design. Perform alarm checks to SCADA per substation commissioning packages. Load and test settings and programming in protection relays, RTU, RTAC. Perform required functional testing of equipment and systems. Verify equipment installation per design. Walk down substation for erection completion. Identify damaged or failed devices for replacements within the completion schedule. Prepare testing and commissioning documentation. Assist and learn aspects of substation yard apparatus testing, safety protocols, and procedures. Familiarity with substation schematic sets and ability to navigate prints for necessary drawings. Learn to operate a man-lift safely and properly. Assist and learn DC function testing and secondary injection of currents and potentials. Identify different equipment in substations and adhere to safety and quality standards. Support continuous improvement efforts and change management related to improvements. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : No prior startup experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws. Preferred Qualifications : Some design experience preferred; Bachelor's of Engineering preferred. Knowledge of project instructions/manuals, contract documents, startup guidelines, division policies; strong communications, planning, multitasking, problem solving, computer skills; knowledge of discipline technical principles related to power plants; familiarity with tools, equipment, and instruments used in job duties; knowledge of internal engineering systems and tools. Certifications

OSHA 10 Hour Training Work Environment/Physical Demands

Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move and walk long distances in varied conditions. See and hear naturally or with correction; full range of motion and dexterity with hands. Work up to a 12 hour shift; may work above 5 feet; climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Exposure to construction site conditions, inclement weather, noise, hazardous equipment, and extreme temperatures. EEO and Notice
