This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer to lead yield improvement and root cause analysis on a key module for Project Kuiper, delivering an ultra-high-performing optical, electrical, and mechatronic module to space. Location: Redmond, WA 98052. Start Date: Right Away. Lead failure analysis and non-conformance management for a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) in Project Kuiper OISL. Drive yield improvement through production process changes and optimization. Provide direct support to operations as a high-capacity problem solver, consolidating multiple technical perspectives during high-pressure escalation moments such as quality containments. Spend ~75% of time on the production floor collaborating with technician teams to solve technical blockers (test report reviews, defect material triage, ERP blockers, etc.). Spend ~25% of time on independent development tasks such as data analysis on disturbances and improving troubleshoot documentation. Qualifications
Experience: 3-8 years. Education: BS/MS in Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Optics/Optical Sciences. Familiarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments & New Product Introduction. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles. Experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques (Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, etc.). Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills. Experience with Optical System Design & Metrology. Preferred Skills
Experience with Python programming. Experience with Fiber Optic Systems. Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab. Export Control Requirement
