Responsibilities
Pre-Estimate: Participates in design review meetings, reviews and monitors scope, cost, and constructability during design development, participates or leads Estimate Plan meeting, develops Estimate Plan with proposal leader and ensures proposal team is clear on strategy and expectations
Estimate Development: Leads team of estimators, compiles work products into a single complete estimate, ensures estimating team has necessary information, manages RFI lists, reviews milestone dates, maintains timeliness, coordinates tax and insurance requirements, ensures compliance with RFP documents, leads estimate review meeting
Subcontractor Management: Builds and maintains subcontractor relationships, develops search and communication strategy, receives quotes, manages bid list, organizes pre-bid meetings, leads development of bid packages, coordinates with operational resources, receives quotes and conducts analysis, organizes scope review meetings
Post Estimate: Submits project budget to accounting, participates in scope review meetings, assists in subcontractor selection, assists PM team with scope-of-work documents, compiles lessons learned, participates in lessons learned meeting, communicates budget overruns
Database Maintenance: Maintains preferred subcontractor database, bid forms and bid packages database, cost history database, estimating database
Training: Trains Preconstruction Specialists and other personnel, develops and maintains training program
Travel: Meets with local subcontractors, attends bid walks and conferences as necessary. Expected travel 5-20% of time
Qualifications
Proven experience managing preconstruction for large-scale food, beverage and consumer manufacturing projects with emphasis on highly complex projects
In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices required
Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
Self-starter, highly motivated to bring project results and success
Ability to build trust and influence others internally and externally
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Haskell's core values
Maintains a “value-added” approach to preconstruction
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate to varied audiences
Strong presentation skills
Ability to travel internationally and domestically as project requires
Education/Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in accredited construction-related curriculum such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
7+ years of estimating experience

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
