Overview / Role Description Join Lubrizol as a New Product Development Engineer. This role is the senior leader for Silicone Technology Development at the Franklin Site and is responsible for designing and building efficient manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, process aids and equipment, and for serving as the Project Manager for new process and product development efforts.

What You'll Do The New Product Development Engineer is primarily responsible for designing and building efficient manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, process aids and equipment. Additionally, serve as the Project Manager for new process and product development efforts.

Responsibilities

Design and build efficient manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, process aids and equipment for new products.

Lead Project Team in implementation of new designs from concept through validation.

Provide technical leadership in interfacing with customers on development programs.

Provide technical assistance and engineering support to manufacturing.

Train production operators, mentor process technicians and engage maintenance personnel in resolving tooling and equipment problems using systematic methods of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and irreversible corrective action implementation.

Support flawless launch activities through active participation in MFEA and tool design review.

Execute validation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols.

Work closely with Project Engineers in new product development activities.

Document lessons learned and report status of all projects and assignments in a timely manner.

Complete project and report status in a timely manner.

Understand and follow the SOPs pertaining to the specific area.

Understand and follow the Work Instructions pertaining to the specific area.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Design and build manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment for new products.

Experience leading a project team and implementing new designs from concept through validation.

Technical leadership in interfacing with customers on development programs.

Technical assistance and engineering support to manufacturing.

Experience training production operators, mentoring process technicians and engaging maintenance personnel in problem-solving using systematic methods.

Experience with project launches and design reviews.

Strong experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.

Ability to work with Project Engineers in new product development.

Ability to document lessons learned and report status in a timely manner.

Follow SOPs and Work Instructions for the area.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands This position is medium physical demand with frequently lifting 10-25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Lifting over 50 pounds is rare.

The role involves sustained bending, manual handling, standing/sitting, pushing/pulling, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive motions. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.

Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, potential electrical shock, and variable conditions including wet/humid environments, high places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, outdoor conditions, and travel. PPE includes safety glasses, hairnet/beard net, gloves, jumpsuit, and earplugs as needed.

Tools / Software Frequent use of hand/power tools and machine equipment; occasional use of PC with Microsoft Office, manlift/elevator, forklift and hydraulic jacks.
