Base pay range $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr

SHIFT Monday-Thursday 4x10 Swing Shift, 3:00PM-1:30AM

Summary The Composites Technician II is responsible for the hand layup and filament winding of advanced composite materials on designated tooling per specific work instructions, and/or customer specifications. Tasks included in this position are tooling fabrication, secondary bonding, tool prep for lay-up, hand lay-up of pre-preg composite material using a variety of techniques and processes, vacuum bagging, precision trimming and layup techniques. The Composites Technician II is also responsible for operating ply cutting, hydraulic platen presses and curing equipment as necessary.

What You Will Do

Builds composite parts using appropriate hand layup techniques

Visually inspects for FOD prior to bagging parts for room temperature, oven, and autoclave

Performs in-process inspections as instructed on work orders and as delegated by quality

Reads precision measuring tools and instruments

Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required

Operation of ply cutting and curing equipment

Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions

Reads and understands blueprints and drawings

Assists with basic facility maintenance and clean-up

Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic

What We Are Looking For

Required Education: High School diploma

Required Experience: Experience with basic hand and power tools

Preferred Experience: >2 years of experience in advanced composites manufacturing

Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
