We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of complex technical solutions to join our team in sunny Orlando, Florida.
What You Will Be Doing This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. Modeling & Simulation Engineer tasks include:
Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture
Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
Work with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB models, C++ models, and actual tactical software into the simulations
Proficient in C++ and MATLAB; strong communication and collaboration skills
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
An active U.S. DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date or CV in the last 5 years
Willing to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment
Advanced proficiency in C++
Advanced proficiency in Matlab or Python
Experience in modeling and simulation of complex weapon systems and/or sensor systems
Ability to develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-DOF simulations
Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills
Experience operating in Linux environments
Experience with Agile development
Experience performing one or more of the following technical GNC assignments:
Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-DOF simulations
Demonstrated strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
Develop, verify and validate complex Electro Optical / InfraRed and/or RF sensor models
Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
Experience Deploying Algorithms That Satisfy Real-time Performance Requirements
Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
