Overview
Electrical Engineer role at Jacobs in Boise, Idaho. You will contribute to projects including semiconductor cleanrooms, laboratories, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing and service areas. You will oversee designer work, provide team technical leadership, perform quality reviews of design packages, and assist directly with complex portions of the design process. Base pay range
$100,300.00/yr - $152,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Engineering and design oversight for facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities
Prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction
Serve as Electrical discipline lead or Quality Control reviewer in project meetings
Participate in project proposals and suggest solutions to clients’ problems
Collaborate with on-site teams and interact with clients, owners, and contractors
Qualifications
Bachelor or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure with ability to obtain in State of Idaho
At least 10 years of experience with building electrical engineering design
Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
Experience with voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit current, and load flow calculations using SKM PTW, EasyPower or similar software
Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
Ability to perform site punch walks
Ideally you’ll also have
At least 2 years of experience with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, either manufacture, installation, or use in cleanrooms
Semiconductor and/or Data Center/Mission Critical facilities electrical design experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or BIM software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
Passionate about buildings and construction
Other requirements
On-site location in Boise, ID; commute to site Monday-Friday during normal business hours (approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility)
Physical requirements: ability to walk long distances, sit/stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, fit in small spaces, lift/carry up to 25 lbs
Authorized to work in the United States; background check and drug screen required. Visa sponsorship not provided
