Blue Origin Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed. This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support the design, development and fabrication of space launch vehicles and components to support human spaceflight programs. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Industrial Engineer to support the efficient production of lunar products at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for optimizing production processes, coordinating the integration of engineering designs with manufacturing operations, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components. Key Responsibilities
Analyze and design workflows and production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies to streamline production operations Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness Develop and apply time and motion studies to optimize labor utilization and reduce production cycle time Update durations and days required to build based on time studies in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Conduct capacity planning and resource allocation to maximize output and meet production deadlines Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes Monitor production metrics and lead initiatives to address any variances or quality issues Develop standard operating procedures and best practices for production Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies Monitor and report on the product health (technical producibility, schedule adherence) through the entire product build and delivery. Apply program management principles to develop executable plans, and implement creative solutions to complex problems Capture best practices of production systems, and manage organizational knowledge and lessons-learned Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace or high-tech industries. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (including Product Life Cycle Management, Manufacturing Execution System, and Material Requirements Planning) Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve production issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and analytical skills Preferred Skills
