What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
Responsible for the ladderframe structure of all new products. You will cover from clean sheet of paper through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for all Scout all-electric pick-up and rugged SUVs.
Creating the CAD-Data of the ladderframe structure
Optimize the CAD-Data with respect to cost, functionality, weight, and manufacturability.
Work with suppliers and engineering service providers.
Be part of a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Develop CAD data for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
Manage resources efficiently including infrastructure, financial, supplier partners and people.
This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
The responsibilities of this role require 3-4 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management or a relevant field
Years of Experience: 4+ years of experience in body mechanical areas and ladderframe structure
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expert in CATIA V5, including the ability to make 3D parametric models and 2D drawings
Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
Ability to lead simultaneous engineering teams
Good knowledge of MS Office products
Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
