Battery Test Engineer

Responsibilities
Improve Battery pack Test process Investigate and implement new technologies for battery and pack testing Develop standard software for battery pack end of line electrical tester Develop standard software for Battery pack leak tester Implement standardized engineered solutions for manufacturing Test equipment, prioritizing ergonomics, safety, productivity, and process conformity Drive investment efficiency process with Product Development (PD) and Joint Venture (JV) Partner Incorporate continuous improvements using ME Continuous Improvement/Lessons Learned, Deviation and Decision Record Processes Participate in peer reviews, sharing and cascading lessons learned Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production/Test processes and improve product quality Monitor and analyze production/Test data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with Ford safety regulations and industry standards for battery manufacturing Travel to domestic and international manufacturing facilities to collaborate with team members, oversee vendor runoff, and in-plant runoff Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and JV partner to ensure project success and timely delivery of products Other Tasks
Responsible for runoff, delivery and launch of new/re-tooled equipment to support new programs Follow quality processes such as Reconciliation Matrix/Control Plan, SCCAF, PFMEA and Error Proofing Champion review and approval of OEM safety risk assessments with Controls and Safety Attend/support all layout reviews Oversee the operation of production lines through launch, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met Manage program timelines for assigned area and implement recovery actions Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field Five years of experience in Battery Test Engineering LabVIEW and NI TestStand expertise Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong analytical ability Data-driven mindset and decision-making Experience with computers and electronics Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to learn product function Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic environment Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally Will Also Help
Project Management experience Self-starter with leadership and communication skills Knowledge of various test processes (Hi-Pot, IR/OCV, Charge/Discharge, etc) and battery/Array sub-component function Mechanical and Controls Engineering aptitude; machine design knowledge Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) Experience leading personnel at remote sites Benefits
