Summary:

Automation Technicians are the front line “reactive” responders to solve maintenance problems that occur throughout the plant requiring troubleshooting, analyzing, problem solving, and implementation of plans and solutions; duties and tasks are performed on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated production equipment to meet all operational goals and objectives. Job Duties

Maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of automation equipment Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment in a manufacturing/production environment Perform maintenance, set-up, and PM on automation equipment in Injection Molding department Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment related processing issues On-call as needed by department and able to be flexible with schedule as needed Use standard and metric hand tools to complete tasks and duties Troubleshoot maintenance problems that occur throughout the plant with a major emphasis on electrical problems, to include AC and DC drives, PLCs, and basic motor control circuits Electrical duties: performing all major and minor electrical repairs including 480V 3-phase motor repairs/installation, motor starter circuit repairs, VFD drives, sensing devices, switches, e-stop circuitry, and group fault detection, read schematics and basic electrical symbol identification, understand electrical theory Mechanical duties: clean, lubricate, adjust equipment, diagnose and repair problems, read mechanical prints and PI&D drawings May assist with the training of other employees Adhere to safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and efficient work area Assists maintenance and production staff as needed Other duties may be assigned as needed Safety

Understand and support a safety culture and workplace Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of required PPE Follow all safety procedures for each task Keep work area clean and organized Report any safety concern immediately to on-shift supervision Quality

Follow all GMP guidelines required by the site and for each workstation Inspect products for defects and report concerns to supervision on shift Qualifications

Summary : must have 5+ years of directly related experience with strong troubleshooting abilities and high mechanical and electrical aptitude. Hard Skills

5+ years automation technician experience in plastics industry; experience in Injection Molding preferred Mechanical, electrical, and electronic/PLC programming skills in a manufacturing environment HS Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred Ability to work in tight spaces and on ladders/platforms Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, robotics/automation Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, belts/pulleys, chains, sprockets Ability to read schematics (electrical, mechanical), P&ID diagrams, and blueprints Experience with Whittman and Krauss Maffei equipment preferred Soft Skills
