Responsibilities NDI Duties Include: Performs nondestructive testing (NDT) on aircraft engines or components; inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts, and assemblies for defects using radiography, ultrasonic, penetrant, eddy current, shearography, thermography, and magnetic particle techniques. Inspects various aircraft structures and components, including composites and metals.
Inspector Duties Include: Inspecting demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to standards; inspecting electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems; performing preflight and post-flight inspections; approving non-flight-proven aircraft for flight; inspecting, adjusting, repairs, or modifications; monitoring and verifying quality per statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications
NDI Level 2: High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of education/experience in nondestructive testing. Currently certified to NDT Level II in UT and ET per NAS-410 (documentation required).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
Must be able to pass eye, medical, and respiratory exams, and able to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
NDI Level 3: High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of education/experience in nondestructive testing. Currently certified to NDT Level II in UT and ET per NAS-410 (documentation required).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
Must be able to pass eye, medical, and respiratory exams, and able to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace or aviation experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Ability to utilize measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and scales
Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other Quality/NDT auditing or accreditation systems
Experience with MAUSS V or AUSS Mobile systems and with multiple brands of flaw detectors
Experience interpreting flaws in composites; certification in other NDT methods
Willingness to cross-train in other NDT methods
Ability to work extended or flexible schedules on short notice
Able to work under general supervision
Salary ranges: Primary Level $47,000.00 - $78,300.00; Secondary Level $55,800.00 - $93,000.00. The above is a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply; long-term incentives may apply for VP/Director roles. Benefits include health, life, disability insurance, savings plan, holidays and PTO.
