We are currently searching for an experienced Bridge Engineer to support our clients in the Southeast Region located in Atlanta, GA. To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles Projects may include design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings and cost estimating Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs Prepare or check structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly steel and concrete Prepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD Coordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawings Work as part of our Structures Team Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 - 10 years of engineering experience in bridge design Recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design PE required GDOT experience preferred Familiarity with bridge design and analysis software such as Open Bridge and/or Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR, other bridge analysis software Experience with preparing drawings in Open Bridge, Microstation, and/or AutoCAD Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment Referral note: Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at The Planet Group by 2x.
