Mobile Vehicle Inspector II, Manheim Express, Long Beach, CA Job overview: A Mobile Inspector II functions as a member of the Manheim mobile inspections team for a designated region with the primary responsibility of conducting vehicle condition inspections on a client's lot. Their core skill is to provide accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition within the parameters of a Manheim inspection. This position will build trust with Clients, engage to help them see the value in the Manheim Marketplace, and to request more inventory to be inspected by providing quality and timely inspections. This role requires performing tasks with minimal guidance and supervision while demonstrating growing independence and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct a thorough vehicle inspection.

Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer/clients\' lot safely.

Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system to correct VIN, mileage, and sub series.

Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items.

Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.

Inspect and record the vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options.

Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles including powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management.

Be able to pivot and adapt to changes in daily appointments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit.

Develop knowledge of clients in territory and collaborate with partners to maintain activity with Manheim mobile inspections through regular on-lot engagement.

Receive data and insights from partners to maximize volume of units inspected on dealer lots.

Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador and provide premier client experience.

Collaborate with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim groups.

Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.

Understand NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

Support continuous improvement/Lean initiatives.

Maintain production expectations set by leadership.

Participate in safety programs and uphold Safety Excellence.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience.

Automotive knowledge preferred (body and mechanical).

1-2 years of automotive-related experience preferred.

Valid driver\'s license and safe driving record.

Travel 100%; reliable transportation required. Reimbursement program may depend on miles driven.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.

Experience using handheld devices and documentation tools preferred.

Ability to work independently with remote supervision; multitask and follow directions.

Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge helpful; familiarity with unibody and full-frame helpful.

Physical ability to lift at least 30 lbs, stand, walk, crouch, bend, kneel, and reach during duties; near vision for damage identification.

Ability to deal with varying lighting conditions.

Compensation Hourly pay range:

USD 17.93 - 26.88 per hour. This range may vary based on location and experience. Eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $6,000.

Benefits Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off per month and seven paid holidays, plus other leave options (bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, parental leave).
