Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period. Under the general direction of the Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physician & Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine/Family Practice [IM/FP]), CF provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility. The Physician & Surgeon, CF (IM/FP) performs medical assessments and provides medical treatment for assigned patients as appropriate and authorized by the medical license and consistent with Department policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. The Physician & Surgeon, CF (IM/FP) provides clinical consultation and support to Advanced Practice Providers and instructs nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adheres to professional medical standards of care. The Physician & Surgeon, CF (IM/FP) is assigned on call duties. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners, and possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine Specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
