Cape Cod Healthcare Responsibilities Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities. Provides documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarizes assessment data and initiates plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by Nursing PI activities. Assumes role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff; understands, assumes, and demonstrates proficiency in the role of charge nurse. Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems). Participates in at least four-unit staff meetings per year and attends mandatory programs. Identifies aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and evaluates that care; adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures. Assesses personal learning development needs; maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities; updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served; participates on Nursing Committees. Represents the hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality and presenting the hospital in a manner that markets the services provided. Provides service excellence to patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Qualifications Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Graduate of a School of Nursing (RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification (ACLS) – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (NRP) - Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (obtain within 3 months of hire) CCHC Pharmacology Exam (successfully passed) CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam (successfully passed) Recent Emergency Center RN experience (within last 3 years) (De-escalation) - Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course (obtain within 90 days) Demonstrated skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring (Preferred) TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications Per Diem: Two years of previous acute care emergency services department experience required Will Train / RN Residency & Transition: additional program-specific qualifications listed below Will Train / RN Residency & Transition details When the hospital offers a Will Train or RN Residency & Transition, Emergency Services program, the following qualifications apply: Sign-On Bonus Eligible Minimum of 1 year of current acute care RN experience (Will Train); and other program-specific milestones (e.g., end of Will Train/Residency requirements as described) Purpose of Position Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards. Schedule and organization Schedule Details: 48PP (24 hrs per week), Rotations evenings 3p-11p, inclusive of weekends and holidays; sign-on bonus eligible.
