Overview
Blue Water Ear, Nose, and Throat (partnered with FYZICAL Dizziness and Fall Prevention Centers) is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist for our office on the Outer Banks of NC, in Nags Head. Our office specializes in dizziness and balance issues, but sees patients for a wide range of problems. The right candidate should be able to work independently and as part of our team; we collaborate to ensure our clients get all the help they need, and outside testing or specialty referrals can be sourced by our on-site physician. Job hours can be flexible. Position Summary
The Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy services to a variety of patients in a well-appointed 500 sq ft gym and private treatment area, using state-of-the-art equipment including Bertec's dynamic posturographer to support assessments and treatments. Responsibilities
Performs detailed patient evaluations to identify the physical conditions and associated symptoms necessary to develop individualized treatment plans Communicates expectations of treatment effectively with patients (and their significant others) to best achieve the patient's goals Employs knowledge of the patient's diagnosis, symptoms, and test results to determine the patient's level of function Responsible for setting priorities for the patient's short-term and long-term goals toward an individualized plan of care Maintains accurate and detailed patient records and documents goals and progress in a timely manner Records and maintains a plan of care for each patient that includes long and short-term goals befitting the therapy orders and coordinates with the medical plan of care Provides instructions to patients for the proper performance of therapeutic exercises and home exercise programs (HEP) Collaborates and coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with the physician, front office, and billing staff, as needed Remains informed of the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and research and utilizes support from FYZICAL Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Ability to provide instructions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrate compassion and encouragement to patients experiencing pain and finding frustration with their function Provide continuous positivity and motivation with patients Have the capability to remain flexible, adaptable, and calm in unexpected situations Ability to objectively assess situations or circumstances Use of critical thinking skills to define a problem and to take necessary steps to implement solutions Position Requirements
BS, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school Current Physical Therapy license in the state of North Carolina 2 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist preferred Experience working in an outpatient setting preferred Vestibular Therapy experience is a plus Job Details
