The VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Specialist plays a crucial role in preconstruction and construction phases. The role acts as a liaison among stakeholder teams, requiring fluency in various AEC 2D drafting and 3D modeling software, the ability to read architectural and engineering drawings, and to produce coordinated, accurate models and construction-ready drawings. Key skills include clear communication, high attention to detail, organization, deadline management, and teamwork. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Assist in implementing the VDC Program. Implement BIM execution plans on new projects. Resolve BIM-related issues in Contract Documents. Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements, client expectations, and codes to create compliant BIM designs. Set up projects in Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, and other systems. Detect clashes in models. Update Procore RFI/Observations and track items to completion. Create and present coordinated federated models for meetings. Resolve design conflicts and coordination issues. Work with design and trade teams to deliver coordinated 3D models on schedule. Lead BIM Coordination meetings, including reporting and documentation. Establish and manage LOD requirements at each project phase. Support transition from Design to Construction, including subcontractor preparation and coordination schedule management. Prepare models for field use, support field teams, and ensure models are current with design and field changes. Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or related field. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with VDC in the AEC industry. Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Oracle Primavera, Airtable is a plus. Strong understanding of construction documents and processes. Knowledge of laser scanning, 3D capture, drones is advantageous. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel as needed. Why Work for Us?
