Water Resources Engineer
to join our team in our Cincinnati, Louisville, or Evansville office.
B&N Water Resources Engineer Responsibilities
Develop and calibrate hydraulic and hydrologic models for a variety of projects, ensuring accurate representation of system behavior Provide technical analysis and solutions for stormwater management and design, ranging from steady-state analysis adhering to local regulations to large-scale hydraulic modeling using SWMM-based software Analyze sanitary and combined sewer modeling outputs to pinpoint areas of high inflow and infiltration (I&I) and develop alternatives to mitigate these issues Support the development of wet weather control strategies and evaluate alternatives for stormwater and sewer system enhancements Assist in project management tasks, including overseeing budgets, schedules, and deliverables for H&H projects Participate in and lead client, public, project, and internal meetings, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication Mentor junior staff, providing guidance in modeling techniques, project workflows, and professional development Collaborate on the preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and engineering calculations Contribute to proposal development and business development efforts by identifying client needs and aligning technical capabilities with project goals Offer hydrologic and hydraulic technical support during the planning, design, and construction phases of projects, covering a wide spectrum of water resource challenges
Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited engineering program Professional Engineer (PE) registration required in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana; or ability to register through reciprocity 5+ years related water/wastewater experience Experience with SWMM, PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or other similar hydraulic modeling software Experience with stormwater and sanitary sewer system design Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Preferred Skills Familiarity with GIS products (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS) to enhance hydraulic model development and data analysis Adaptability to handle both straightforward and complex hydraulic modeling tasks, depending on project requirements General Python scripting knowledge for automating and streamlining manual workflows and calibration processes
