Overview
Controls and Automation Specialist
role at
IKO North America . This role ensures cross-plant technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and automation systems, enhancing uptime and reliability.
Responsibilities
Supporting the Electrical Engineering department and assisting with project deliverables.
Providing electrical assistance including troubleshooting, project engineering and project management to all plants.
Updating existing legacy technologies in different plants to current standards.
Managing electrical projects including scheduling, financials, and management of contractors' work.
Labor-hour estimation, work planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting.
Updating schematic drawings in AutoCAD as required.
Programming automation and controls systems and improving existing PLC programs including servo drives and AC drives.
Designing, testing, commissioning, startup, reconditioning and working with current equipment configurations; engineering new technologies.
Qualifications
4-year degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
5 years as an Electrical Engineer.
Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel.
4+ years using AutoCAD, MS Office Suite including Project.
4+ years with electrical safety code and its application in industrial wiring and power distribution.
4+ years working with PLC and HMI applications (including RSlinx, RSlogix5, 500, 5000, & Factory Talk View).
4+ years with PLC & HMI systems design, programming, commissioning and startup including system hardware selection, I/O panels and subsystems layout and wiring.
